I Teach Bilingual December Link up

Hello everyone!  I'm so excited about December and doing crafts with my students.  December is an emotional time of year for my families and I love working on building memories.  I hope you enjoy this as well.  So many crafts to do related to the common core.

Here is one of the fun Christmas Tree crafts that I found on Pinterest!  The picture to the left is one of my favorites from!  The picture on the right is what we started creating today for one of our math centers.  Our learning target was to design a tree using triangles and a rectangle.  They were to decorate their trees with different types of art materials.  They are also to describe the triangle and rectangle and tell the difference between the two.  Tomorrow they will use a brush technique to dob snow all over their paper using white paint.  If you click on the picture, it will take you to my Pinterest page full of Christmas Crafts activities you can do with your students during this wonderful season.

Here is the final version with snow on them!  :-) I love how they turned out.
The kids really enjoyed creating these trees!

Another math learning center came from one of my products:  Decentas y unidades.  Here the students are using shapes to create a design.  We are focusing on the number 10 this week, so they can only use 10 geometric shapes.  This was hard for some as they really wanted to add more shapes to "FINISH" their pictures.  I told them that they can only use 10 shapes!  Next week they would create another design using 11 shapes.  On the back side of their page they have to show 3 other ways to create "10."  Writing numbers 1-10, writing equations that equal 10, and then gluing a popscicle stick down and gluing 10 beans to their stick.  It was a hit and the kids really took their time.

And Tis the Season to give... here is a link to all of my Freebies on my TPT page!  :-)  Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope you all have a wonderful and joyous season!

4th of July Blog Hop!

Hello friends!  I am so happy to participate in this Blog Hop with my fellow Bilingual Teachers!  I hope you enjoy!  Please make sure to click from blog to blog and enjoy the freebies from each page!

Our family always gets together every year to celebrate at my sister's house to enjoy time together, a great barbeque and fireworks.  She lives in a community where we are able to still light our own fireworks.  We keep it to the safe ones, but when we're done, we get to watch the rest of the fireworks from the neighbors.  It is a great time by all.  Soon we're all taking a trip to Costa Rica!  I can't wait to blog about our time down there.  This will be the first out of country trip for our family, so we're all pretty excited!

I am so happy to participate in this Blog Hop with my fellow Bilingual Teachers!  I hope you enjoy!  Please make sure to click from blog to blog and enjoy the freebies from each page!

Here is one of the most useful phonics centers I have created so far!  I have been using these centers in my classroom for many years and finally have created a freebie of this activity for you.  I hope you like it.

With each theme, your students will study 2-3 new letters and created words that can only be created using these specific letters.  Each theme will become increasingly more difficult for those students who are ready to move on.  As the students move from theme to theme, they will be able to read any word given to them that have the basic syllables.  My students have successfully learned to read using this phonics center.

Hello there friends!  I know I haven't posted in awhile.  I hope you are all having a FANTASTIC FRIDAY!  A few bilingual friends of mine are getting together to do some TGIF posts for our future Friday's.  Who wouldn't want to have a FREE FRIDAY BILINGUAL PRODUCT???

Click on the picture below for my Fantastic Friday Freebies!!!

I have 12 of these little books completed and loaded to TPT! I hope you enjoy!  Each new week adds a new letter and sight word!  The REVIEW weeks review ALL previous sight words, but focus mainly on the 5 letters on the front cover!  We read them all week during our small groups.  At the end of the week, I print these and send them home for homework.  The parents seem to really like using these with the kids.  These books also prepare the students for the upcoming theme test!

Each book includes:
Page 1:  Front cover with 3 larger pictures for the letter of the week
Page 2:  A gameboard with the new sight word of the week and all sight words from the previous weeks.  They also include all letters taught up until this point.
Page 3:  Fluency page of letters taught, sight words taught, and syllables of the week
Page 4:  Fluency page of letters taught, sight words taught, and syllables of the week
Page 5: A page practicing phonemic awareness - identifying initial sounds
